We are a professional organization established in 1995. BCSSWA promotes and serves the needs of school social workers (and other mental health professionals) employed by the local school district.

Mission Statement
The Broward County School Social Worker’s Association, Inc. (BCSSWA) promotes and serves the needs of school social workers employed by the local school district. Through the provision of networking and educational opportunities, the BCSSWA seeks to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information and skills among members and the community at large. In addition, the BCSSWA will provide a vehicle for social policy change through community and legislative efforts and will actively seek the development of partnerships with the business and professional community.

Founded in 1955, NASW is the largest professional social work organization in the United States. ACSSW advocates for the practice of school social work and supports school social workers in their service to students, schools, and families to overcome social, systemic, economic and mental health barriers to student learning.
The Student Services Department Provides a wide array of support services for students, staff, and families of Broward County Public Schools.
The School Social Work Association of America empowers school social workers and promotes the profession of school social work to enhance the social and emotional growth and academic outcomes of all students.
The Florida Association of School Social Workers Membership includes school social workers serving children in many unique and diverse roles in a variety of educational settings. Their active support and leadership has increased the professional, political and academic influence of the Association.
